7/17 - Services Restored
July 17th, 2023 -- Concerning system-wide outages across Ryde Cloud services:
As many of our Ryde family is aware, we suffered a week-long outage following multiple intermittent connectivity issues. While we're still working on getting everything restored in the terms of our client portal and frontend for Ryde Cloud, rest assured that all data is unaffected. An automatic task on one of our primary servers failed, due to the connectivity issues we had been experiencing, which caused further issues in the system's attempt to bring itself back up.
This system was responsible for routing a large part of our traffic for Ryde Cloud, and was a core part of our cybersecurity infrastructure. As a result, we had to take down our network and we have since transitioned to a new provider. Rest assured, we have vetted this provider for their reliability and security.
We have taken away a lot from this experience, including reviewing the systems that keep us afloat, and are actively working on changes internally. Going forward, we will be using this as a chance to rebuild the Ryde Cloud platform from the ground up. New services will be made available to existing clients and we will begin onboarding new clients within the coming months.
